at the Quad-Cities Christian Writers' Conference.

DATES: Friday and Saturday, April 8-9, 2011. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.

LOCATION: Cornerstone Church, 775 E. LeClaire Road, Eldridge, Iowa
For directions, go to www.mapquest.com or contact Twila Belk.

CONFERENCE FEE: For registrations postmarked, called in, or electronically submitted on or before Saturday, April 2, the charge is $159 for one day and $269 for both days. Those who register by Saturday, February 12, will receive a bonus at the conference--a copy of bestselling author Cecil Murphey's new book, Knowing God, Knowing Myself. The rate after Saturday, April 2, and at the door is $169 for one day and $279 for both days.

All conferees (Friday and/or Saturday) are eligible to attend the Friday night dinner and general session. To get the most benefit from the conference, we recommend you try to attend both full days. The conference fee covers attendance at all sessions and all scheduled meals. In addition, you will receive an MP3 CD of all recorded conference sessions, which will be mailed after the conference.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations before April 2 will receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee. Emergency cancellations after that date will be evaluated on an individual basis.

WHAT TO BRING: You might want to bring some of your works in progress. Many people bring laptop computers with them, but this is not required. You will be given a spiral notebook and pen at registration. If you plan to purchase books or CDs, be prepared with cash, checks, VISA, MasterCard, or Discover. If you attend Susie May Warren's Writer's Studio, you will need $20 for the worktext.

WHAT TO WEAR: Dress comfortably. Casual clothing is fine.

MEALS: Meals and snacks are included in the cost of the conference. Our meal times provide great opportunities for fellowship and networking. The instructors sit with the conferees--one at each meal table--which allows you to enjoy their company and learn from them while eating.

FRIDAY NIGHT BUFFET: If you would like to bring a guest for dinner and the keynote presentation on Friday night, a $25 extra charge will be required. Please let Twila know ahead of time, so we can plan accordingly.

BOOKSTORE: A variety of writing resources, as well as books authored by faculty members and conferees, will be available for purchase at the conference. You may bring books you have authored to consign to the bookstore. The conference will retain 15% commission of sales. Each item must be clearly priced with no quantity pricing. See the worker at the registration table to consign in items and unconsign them before leaving. Faculty members are happy to autograph books for you. Keep in mind that autographed books make great gifts!

MISSED SESSIONS: You'll probably realize that there are way too many good sessions, and you won't want to miss any of them. No problem. As part of your registration fee, you will receive an MP3 CD of all recorded conference sessions. It will be mailed to you after the conference.

ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENTS: Faculty members will be available throughout the day for a limited number of fifteen-minute one-on-one appointments. Sign-up sheets will be posted at the beginning of the conference. Appointments are limited to one per registrant, subject to availability.

BLOG CLINIC: If you'd like to get a critique of your blog, you'll be able to sign up for a free 15-minute consult with Michelle, who will look over your blog with you and give you some ideas for making it more effective.

MANUSCRIPT CRITIQUES: For an additional fee of $30, you may send in a manuscript for an in-depth critique. For more details and guidelines, go to the paid critique page.

SHINE ON! AWARD: Kathy Carlton Willis Communications is offering the second annual Shine On! Award. This year the recipient will be given a $500 package for promotional print materials designed by KCWC. There will be a sign-up list at the registration table for all who are interested in being considered for this package. Qualified entries must show a need for said materials, and be prepared to work on the project with KCWC. The winner's name will be drawn at the conclusion of the Willis' Saturday morning keynote address, and someone from the KCWC team will meet with the recipient prior to the final keynote to set up initial plans.

SPONSORS: The Quad-Cities Christian Writers' Conference is sponsored by Gotta Tell Somebody Inc., best-selling author Cecil Murphey, and Frank Ball/Eyewitness Tools.
