DATES: Friday and Saturday, April 9-10, 2010. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.
LOCATION: Cornerstone Church, 775 E. LeClaire Road, Eldridge, Iowa

CONFERENCE FEE: The special early-bird rate for registrations postmarked or electronically submitted on or before Saturday, February 20, is $149 for one day and $249 for both days. Those who take advantage of the special early-bird registration rate will receive an early-bird bonus at the conference--a hardback copy of Cecil Murphey's book Heaven Is Real (co-authored with Don Piper). Cecil Murphey is one of our conference sponsors. The rate after February 20 and before Saturday, April 3, is $159 for one day and $259 for both days. The cost for later and walk-in registrations is $169 for one day and $269 for both days. All conferees (Friday and/or Saturday) are eligible to attend the Friday night dinner and general session. To get the most benefit from the conference, we recommend you try to attend both full days. The conference fee covers attendance at all sessions and all scheduled meals. In addition, you will receive an exciting bonus: an MP3 CD of all the sessions recorded at the conference along with downloadable handouts.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations before April 3 will receive a full refund minus a $25 administrative fee. Emergency cancellations after that date will be evaluated on an individual basis.
WHAT TO BRING: You might want to bring some of your works in progress. Many people bring laptop computers with them, but this is not required. You will be given a spiral notebook and pen at registration. If you plan to purchase books or CDs, be prepared with cash, checks, VISA, or MasterCard.
WHAT TO WEAR: Dress comfortably. Casual clothing is fine.
MEALS: Meals and snacks are included in the cost of the conference. Our meal times provide great opportunities for fellowship and networking. The instructors sit with the conferees--one at each meal table--which allows you to enjoy their company and learn from them while eating.
BOOKSTORE: A variety of writing resources, as well as books authored by faculty members and conferees, will be available for purchase at the conference. You may bring books you have authored to consign to the bookstore. The conference will retain 15% commission of sales. Each item must be clearly priced with no quantity pricing. See the worker at the registration table to consign in items and unconsign them before leaving. Faculty members are happy to autograph books for you. Keep in mind that autographed books make great gifts!
MISSED SESSIONS: You'll probably realize that there are way too many good sessions, and you won't want to miss any of them. No problem. Sound Word Associates will be there to record all conference sessions. As part of your registration fee, you will receive an MP3 CD of all recordings. If you are clueless about MP3s, you will have the opportunity to order CDs at the conference and after the conference.
ONE-ON-ONE APPOINTMENTS: Faculty members will be available throughout the day for a limited number of fifteen-minute one-on-one appointments. Sign-up sheets will be posted at the beginning of the conference. Appointments are limited to one per registrant, subject to availability.
MANUSCRIPT CRITIQUES: For an additional fee of $30, you may send in a manuscript for an in-depth critique. For more details and guidelines, go to the paid critique page. Kathy Carlton Willis Communications will be awarding the Shine On! Award to a QCCWC attendee who is choosing to move his or her writing forward. To be considered for this award, registrants must submit a manuscript for critique for QCCWC. All conferees who participate in this year's critique services will automatically be entered in this KCWC drawing, and a name will be randomly selected to win the award. The winner will receive a $500 grant for services provided by KCWC. Kathy will perform a writer diagnostic with the winner to determine the best use of the grant, to customize it to fit the most pressing writing need of the recipient. The grant might be used for services such as: editing, coaching, query writing, article placement, platform building, branding, marketing plans, blog tour, etc. Be sure to get your manuscript submitted for critique to be considered for this advancement opportunity.
