Quad-Cities Christian Writers' Conference
A note from Twila Belk, director of the QCCWC:
I know many of you are
curious about the dates for next year's Quad-Cities Christian Writers' Conference, so I thought I'd fill you in on the scoop.
For the past eight years God has worked in powerful ways at the QCCWC. I've delighted in the way He showed up at each conference and how He worked in and through and for all those who participated. If you've attended the conference before, you've probably heard me say that I walk around barefooted a lot because God constantly blows my socks off. God "blew my socks off" every year at the QCCWC, and I'm so grateful that He used the QCCWC for His glory. He does (and will continue to do) great stuff.
Before our 2011 conference happened, God made it clear to me that it would be our last conference (at least in the way we've been doing it). I wrestled and prayed and prayed and wrestled. I wanted to make sure I heard God clearly. I went into this year's conference grieving the thought that it would be the last one. In fact, I still grieve as I think about it, yet I'm a firm believer that God rewards obedience. Each year the conference was my offering to Him, and now I give up the conference as my offering to Him. I may not know what God has in store next, but with Him it's always an exciting ride. I look forward to my NEW THING.
We will continue to keep the FB page going. The relationships and encouragement from others is important. Gail will continue to post helps for writers. We will continue to point you in the "write direction." We will recommend other conferences to you. And we will offer writing seminars periodically. Together we will continue to change the world one word at a time. After all, we just gotta tell somebody!
Keep moving forward, and keep your eyes on Him.
Blessings,
Twila
